David Kossowski

What I teach at ŌHIA:
Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga

Teaching style:
Anatomically informed – energetic flow and breath, encouraging self-reliance.

Inspired by mostly traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa but also more modern Vinyasa Styles the classes are thought through and follow certain alignment principles which prioritize anatomical safety, pranic (energetic) flow and “Tristana” (Meditation in movement).

The physical practice is seen as the bedrock of yogic practice which releases past conditioning from the body and thus ultimately allows us to experience the here and now, seeing Life with greater clarity.

The postures themselves – instead of being reduced to something to be achieved or performed – become a container for meditative experience which can lead to transformation of one’s life.

David believes that Asana practice should serve and fit the practitioners and not the other way around.

Qualifications:
800h+ Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Hatha, Pranayama

Life Wisdom:
“I see my life as an unfolding set of opportunities to awaken” – Ram Dass

Favourite book:
There are different books regarding different topics 😉

“What does spirituality mean?

Not being exclusively  identified with our thoughts, personalities and life events but recognize something else revealing itself.

Embodiment.

To experience reality, less through the limiting view of the conditioned mind , but more how it actually is.

To recognize the wonder of being alive and remain in awe.

To learn to listen to my heart and live from that place deeper within.”
